Maple Peach Ice Cream

Perfect for a cozy fall evening!! And this recipe is guaranteed to make your home smell amazing!

What you’ll need:

- 4 peaches – peeled and sliced

- 1.5 cups of water

- 1 tbsp of maple syrup

- ½ tsp of cinnamon

- Nutriwhip (or any other cream substitute)

In a pot add water, peaches, maple syrup and cinnamon, simmer on medium-low heat for 40 mins or until peaches are fairly tender. (It take a while but it smells sooo good so it’s worth it)

Once the peaches are done and cooled to room temperature, add to food processor and blend. (Not until smooth cause it’s nice to have small bits of peaches in the ice cream so you don’t want to blend it too much)

Mix blended peaches with nutriwhip

Assemble your ice cream machine (make sure your freezer bowl has been in the freezer for least 24 hours)

Pour mixture into the ice cream machine, turn on and let it churn for 40mins

If it is not frozen enough for you, put it in the freezer for 20mins.

Scoop into a serving dish and enjoy!!

Blackberry Ice Cream Recipe

Normally when I use fruit I normally make a sorbet but this one is made with a non dairy cream substitute. I have made blackberry sorbet before and I actually prefer it with a "cream" base instead.

What you'll need:
- 3 cups of blackberries
- 4 tbsp of sugar
- 1/3 cup of water
- non dairy cream substitute (I use nutriwhip)

In a pot add the blackberries, sugar and water. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes till the blackberries are soft.

Pour the blackberries into a strainer over a bowl, use a fork to push the blackberries through the strainer. Let it cool.

Once it's done cooling add it to your non dairy cream.

Assemble your ice cream maker, turn it on and pour mixture into the machine. Let it churn for about 30-45 minutes.

Once it's done, scoop some into a serving dish and enjoy!!

Lemon and blue berry sorbet

I really like this sorbet because of the bits of blue berry and lemon zest throughout! If you or someone you know don't like desserts being too sweet this is perfect. It has a great combination of sweet and tart.
What you'll need:
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 3 cups of frozen blue berries (you could use fresh blue berries) I normally just have a bag of frozen blue berries in my fridge so that's what I use
- 1 lemon

In a pot heat up your water and sugar till all the sugar melts, then pour into a bowl and put it in the fridge to cool.

Put your blue berries into a food processor and blend. Pour into a bowl.

Zest your lemon and squeeze the juice from half the lemon. Add to your blue berry mixture.

Once your sugar water has been cooled you can also add this to your blue berry and lemon mixture. Assemble you ice cream machine and pour mixture in.

In about 30 minutes you will have a very tastey lemon blue berry sorbet! Don't forget to garnish with a couple blue berries and some zest!

Mint chocolate chip ice cream!

I did it!! I finally did it! I made my favourite ice cream!!! The colour was perfect! It was heaven in my mouth!

What you'll need:
- Your non-dairy cream substitute (I use nutriwhip)
- Chocolate (I used 70% dark lindt, no milk in it)
- mint extract
- green food colouring

Pour the nutriwhip into a bowl and add about 2 teaspoons of mint extract (taste and add more depending on how minty you'd like it).

Add 2 teaspoons of green food colouring into the mixture.

Assemble ice cream machine and pour mixture in.

While mixture is being turned in the machine, chop your chocolate into small bits almost like shavings.

After 15 minutes pour the chocolate bits into the ice cream machine with the mixture. Don't add the chocolate at the beginning because it will make the chocolate frozen and hard, making it harder to taste it that way.

It was DELICIOUS!! Thumbs up!

My 5 Favourite Ice Cream Flavours

1. MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP!

By far this is my favourite flavour! I am a hard person to please when it comes to mint chocolate chip ice cream. It must be the right colour of green, not too blueish. It can't have chocolate syrup, it must have chocolate chips. I prefer having very fine bits chips of chocolate chips.

I have yet to attempt making it because I am worried I'll do it no justice, but I hope to try it soon.

2. Cookies and Cream!

I love cookies and cream ice cream! I have made this ice cream before with oreo cookies and it was amazing!! Maybe even better than then store bought kind.

3. Green Tea Ice Cream!

I have yet to make green tea ice cream but I've had it many times before my allergies surfaced. What a great way to end a sushi dinner! With a nice bowl of creamy green tea ice cream! Mmmm

4. Caramel Swirl
I am planning on making this in the next couple of days!! What better than nice vanilla ice cream with sweet chewy (just a bit chewy) caramel!!! MMMMMMMM!!!

Last but not least...
5. Chocolate
The good old fashion chocolate ice cream! Who could resist?! I have made chocolate ice cream many times and I always get too excited about the chocolate and add way too much so it's really rich and sweet. (Not that that's a bad thing) Pin It

Oreo Ice Cream Recipe

This oreo ice cream recipe is very rich and smooth! I have made this a couple times now and each time I'm in heaven till it's done

Tip: if you put whole oreos in it will make the ice cream sweeter and smoother but can be a bit too rich! the middle part of the oreo causes this. So what I like to do it just 10 oreo tops and bottoms and then 5 whole oreos to get a good consistency.

What you'll need:
- 10 oreos
- a cream substitute (I like to use nutriwhip, you can find it in more grocery stores) you'll only need to use half

You'll again need to make sure that your freezer bowl for you ice cream maker has been in the freezer for a day or two before hand.

Crush the oreos, mix them into half of the cream substitute. Assemble your ice cream maker and pour the mixture in!! Turn it or turn it on for 30 minutes and you'll have the best oreo ice cream ready for you to enjoy!

Grape Fruit Sorbet Recipe!

This is an AMAZING sorbet! It has that right amount a sweetness and a perfect tartness! Everyone I have made it for loves it!

What you'll need:
1 cup of sugar (you can increase or decrease depending on how sweet you want it)
1 1/2 cup of water
2 grape fruits (washed)

If you are using an ice cream making machine you need to make sure that the freezer bowl has been in the freezer for a day or two before trying to make this.
Pour the water and sugar into a small pot and heat until all the sugar has been dissolved. Then put sugar water in the fridge to cool.
Zest one of the grape fruits, then cut both in half and squeeze all that yummy juice out into a bowl with the zest. What I like to do it make sure there is some of the pulp in the bowl too, so I scrape the grape fruits with a spoon. This way the sorbet will have these bits of frozen pulp pieces!
Once the sugar water has cooled, add it to the grapefruit juice.
Then set up your ice cream machine or any method you are using to make the ice cream and pour the mixture in, and turn it on.
I normally wait about 30 mins, or you can take a peek every once and a while to see how the consistency is and stop when it's good for you.

Now you are left with grapefruit sorbet that's to die for!!

A Few Ice Cream Making Methods

1. The Donvier Ice Cream Maker:

This ice cream maker is pretty good, I have used it multiple times and it has produced some good ice cream! There is the inner freezer bowl that would need to have been in the freezer for a day or two before using it to make sure it is cold enough that the ice cream will actually form. Then when you are ready to make ice cream you would need to place the freezer bowl into the outter white container, pour the mixture into the freezer bowl, place the turning blade into the freezer bowl and place the lip on and the turning handle.  You need to turn the handle every couple minutes till the ice cream is at the desired consistency, and it can get pretty tough to turn once the ice cream begins to freeze to the sides.

Pros:
- Very portable since it does not need to be plugged into an outlet
- Very intuitive
Cons:
- If you don't remember to turn it for a while it can freeze to the sides and be almost impossible to turn after (which can wreck your ice cream if it can't be turned, or if you struggle with it too much you can break the handle)

 2. The Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker

This is the ice cream maker that I have at home. It is very good and easy to use. This one does not need to be turned by hand, just plug it into the wall, turn it on and let it go! This one also has a freezer bowl that needs to be in the freezer before making ice cream. I find the easiest way to go about it is to just put it into your freezer after you wash it, that way you don't need to plan ahead when to put it into the freezer. I always just have the freezer bowl in my freezer for when I have ice cream cravings. You place the freezer bowl onto the base of the machine, put in the turning blade, then place the clear plastic cover over it. Turn it on and pour your ice cream mixture in the top opening of the clear cover.

Pros:
- It turns on it's own so you can do other things while the ice cream is being made
- Makes the ice cream have a very nice consistency because of the constant stirring
Cons:
- It is fairly loud

3.  The Industrial Revolution Ice Cream Ball

I have never used this ice cream maker before but I would love to try!! Apparently all you need to do to make the ice cream with this is to just throw it around. LOL! Feel like playing ball and then eating ice cream?! No problem!! This would be perfect.

Pros:
- So much fun!
Cons:
- If you'r not in the mood to have to throw it around in order to make ice cream then it may be a hassel

4. Ziplock bags

If you are not someone who thinks they'll be making ice cream all the time or if buying a machine is not an option then this method is perfect! All you need is two ziplock bags, a big one and a smaller one, ice, and a good ice cream mixture. You put your ice cream mixture into the smaller bag, fill half of the bigger bag with ice, then place the smaller bag into the bigger bag with ice and shake!!  BAM! you have ice cream!

Pros:
- Saves money not buying a machine
- No dishes!
Cons:
- Harder to make a lot of ice cream
